Track I : Governance for development

Taking stock of the developments so far and preparing for future e-Government services and all inclusive development.

The national e-Government programs have been there for quite some time now. There have been significant momentum on the deployment of Electronic Public Services (eps) while issues like access to all , development orientation of e-Government programs, assessment and evaluation of efforts so far, capacity building etc. are the issues that  require deliberations among the stakeholders and study of global best practices.

The aim of the Governance4Development Track during e-GovWorld 2007 is to take stock and build on the achievements  so far, to accelerate further developments and set directions for next phase of efforts. The session will be preceded with high level consultative meeting among the stakeholders communities including representatives from government agencies, multilateral development agencies,  civil society organizations, academia and media.

Key Sessions

The e-Government programs at the national level are expected to adress the needs of citizens and businesses alike to ensure access to all as well as economic growth. Following sessions during the conference will address a wide range of deployment and management issues on key mission mode projects during the conference:

For each session, a core group of experts comprising of prominent experts from various domains is being created. The core group will carry out consultations with the stakeholders in the run up to the conference and present the recommendations during the conference.
